A performance of shodo and music curated by Carlo Buffa (駟雲 Shi Kumo) – shodo, and Francesco Cigana – percussion.
A performance that unfolds through sound and visual dimensions, exploring the relationship between these two languages, united by the care of gesture and an improvisational approach. The sonic line and the calligraphic stroke communicate and observe one another, traveling in parallel—meeting, diverging, and influencing each other.
Francesco Cigana | explores his expressive potential using percussion instruments as his medium, primarily through improvisation. He is the artistic director of A Love Supreme Impro Festival, a music series dedicated to avant-garde and improvised music. In 2018, he founded the DOOOM Orchestra, an ensemble and workshop focused on the study of improvisation, where he serves as both director and instructor.
Carlo Buffa | has worked in the fields of visual communication and photography since the 1970s. He teaches Graphic Design and Multimedia Audiovisual at LAS Fanoli and is a member of the “Bokushin” school under Master Norio Nagayama, J.E.C.F. (Japan Educational Calligraphy Federation).
