The exhibition Bruno De Toffoli. L’avventura spazialista. takes inspiration from an important group of works in the Alberto Peruzzo Foundation collection linked to spatialism and at the same time intends to contribute to valorize an important artistic figure of the territory such as Bruno De Toffoli. Pupil of Arturo Martini in Venice and signatory with Fontana of the Manifesto dello Spazialismo per la televisione in 1952, he contributed significantly to the history of Italian art of the time.
The exhibition, curated by Luca Massimo Barbero focuses on nine sculptures by De Toffoli created during the 1950s, coming from the Intesa Sanpaolo Collection, and on an unpublished drawings album made by artist between 1965 and 1968 which will be shown here for the first time to the public. The exhibition in the Sacristy is completed by the dialogue with works from the Foundation’s collection including Dadamaino, Fontana, Vedova, Tàpies and Bonalumi. In particular, a pink Concetto Spaziale from 1968 acts as an ideal bridge between the three-dimensional sculptures of the Nave and the drawings exhibited in the Sacristy.
